teenout, teen chat, teen social network
After more than two years of closure when the site was decided it was in need of a major revamp, we have now re-launched it with a totally new different look, design and features.
Using a customized version of the Elgg Engine as we felt this great open source software is probably the best of its kind and is suitable for our young audience and members. Though still in beta and would urge our new and returning members to send us their feedback on any new features they would like on the site and also on any problems they may face.
As TeenOut is aimed at a younger audience and users, mainly teenagers and people in their twenties, we do monitor the site with human eyes as well as use geographic location software in addition to other tools to track any abuse or any predatory elements on young people.
Sadly only few hundred previous members are sent invitation to re-register on the site after the long absence from close to 30,000 database of past members. We felt that many thousands of members were registered just to spam others.
TeenOut offers some great standard tools you would find used on other sites such as Beboo or Facebook and some tools are unique to TeenOut.
We like to think TeenOut is like Facebook but for young people only and in their twenties and under. We also encourage parents to supervise their children if they are under 16 years old, however, we do not accept members who are under the age of 13.
We urge our previous members to re-register and re-upload their photos and profile icon, we decided to send an email invitation to our chosen previous members rather than migrate them to the new system (once we finish all testing), to start with, their photos are three years old and probably embarrass them, secondly, they themselves are now three years older and would have a different life, taste and friends.
TeenOut is run by family members and friends and offered to family members and friends!
Enjoy!
